For the first time in three years, economic researchers are predicting economic growth again.

This is important, but there is no cause for celebration, because structural problems remain, inflation is high and is eating away at the minimal growth. In addition, many industrial companies, including those in the Berndorf Group, recorded even weaker demand in the second half of the year than had been hoped for after the first two quarters.
The good news is that disappointed expectations bring opportunity – they create clarity. We are seeing a new reality in which the world has changed both economically and politically. There will be no simple return to the time before coronavirus and before military conflicts. Uncertainties about tariffs, energy prices and supply chains are not the exception, but the norm. In this situation, it is important to take matters into our own hands in order to grow again.
Berndorf strengths
For Berndorf, this means continuing to build on our strengths. We do this by not only maintaining our connections to customers and markets during the upturn, but also expanding them. Berndorf excels at understanding the requirements of our partners and developing solutions that are one step ahead. This gives our businesses the opportunity to be innovation leaders. We see this in China and India, in America and also in our traditional home market of Europe. The current issue of “Menschen am Werk” (MaW) 2025 reports on this under the headline #WeStayConnected.
There are three cornerstones that will enable us to keep pace with the dynamics of the markets on our own in the future:
unconditional proximity to customers and market needs –regardless of the region,
dialogue-oriented networking with our partners, from which innovation grows, and
the anchoring of our Berndorf values in the environment of all locations where we operate.
Wherever these cornerstones can be efficiently combined, Berndorf will be at the forefront – worldwide. That is why we remain committed to our locations for the future. This is demonstrated by the expansion and investment programmes at AICHELIN, Berndorf Band, Berndorf Bäderbau and Lumpi, all of which aim to achieve the best possible production conditions. We can only maintain our leading position in global competition if we rely on a secure technological edge and highly trained specialists.
The following pages contain recent reports showing where the innovative strength of the Berndorf brand is particularly successful today and how Berndorf companies are training the ideal managers of tomorrow in a practice-oriented collaboration with the company's own training institutions. For over 30 years, “Menschen am Werk” has been presenting the faces of the large Berndorf family in a very personal way. The “MaW-Damals” section looks back for the first time on stories that were once the talk of Berndorf and asks what has happened since then.
Keeping memories like these alive is an equally important aspect of our culture. It connects Berndorf with people in the factory hall, in management or even as owners over generations and gives strength for future challenges.
