A mobile pool could provide more swimming areas in the future
Providing more swimming areas so that children can learn to swim under optimal hygienic conditions: With this idea in mind, Berndorf Bäderbau developed a pool in a container – with everything a pool needs, but mobile.
SwimSalabim consists of two containers:
Container 1 -> wet area with swimming pool, showers, bathrooms
Container 2 -> dry area with entry area, changing rooms, and two lockable changing booths
What else does the container offer?
Improved air quality and spacious feeling due to ceiling heights of up to 3.70 m
Demand-oriented flexible adjustment possible – schools, childcare facilities, therapy centers, private use, fitness centers
Optical design flexibility
Swimming pool with large swimming area (19.9 m2 water area, W 2.72 m x L 6.995 m)
Specially adapted overflow channel for optimal use of space
Standard/DIM-compliant design in accordance with regulations for public use
Pool equipment for comfort and safety
SwimEye
Underwater spotlight
Access steps with railing
All-round overflow channel with grip edge to hold on to
Non-slip embossed floor
Individually adjustable counter-current system for athletic swimming training
Bench seat
Construction of the prototype
Production in Berndorf.
The pool is largely prefabricated for incorporation into the container. Careful processing is a given. Adhering to the measurements is particularly important to ensure seamless integration in the container.
The expansion tank has the shape of the outer and inner access steps and seating bench – it was manufactured separately and sealed tightly with the corresponding stainless-steel elements after its incorporation.
The tank is ready to be transported from the plant in Berndorf to the container manufacturer Stugeba's plant in Bad St. Leonhard in Austria (Carinthia).
There, the custom-made and precisely fitting pool is installed in the container so that the final work on the pool and the container can begin. The finished swimming container is then brought back to Berndorf.
Millimeter work! The swimming container is positioned precisely on the strip foundations using a crane. The changing room container is placed next to the swimming container and then connected. Thanks to the efforts of the Berndorf fire department, the initial filling of the pool is completed very quickly. Final work and basic cleaning are carried out before trial operation can begin. The swimming container has a pitched roof with two skylights for a spacious feel, pleasant light and optimum air quality.
The artist SIUZ (Sarah Kupfner) was commissioned to create a suitable motif for an appealing look. The real dimensions for the production of the motifs can now be taken.
Ready for bathing and swimming fun!
A comfortable entry area and generous room heights guarantee a sense of well-being.
The brightness speaks for itself. Individual motifs are still missing on the walls, but the atmosphere is already pleasant.
The generous water surface, the hygienic conditions and the high-quality workmanship are impressive! The swimming pool, the technology and the entire container meet the standards and conditions of a public indoor pool facility. There are spacious showers next to the comfortable entry area into the pool. There is also a barrier-free toilet facility in the swimming container. Both the swimming container and the changing container can be designed to be completely barrier-free.
The entrance area is located in the changing container (dry area). There are also two lockable changing rooms.
The technical room is clearly arranged in a very small space.
A successful prototype!
The experience gained from production and trial operation will be taken into account for future swimming containers. This overall concept makes swimming easy, independent of location and in line with requirements.
We can look forward to further developments!
