Bystřice/Zilina – Žarnovica: Cycling tour with classic potential

The origin of this sporting event was worthy and fitting. The tour de force that has seen the Bäderbau team grow from a start-up to the clear market leader in Czechia and Slovakia over the last 25 years gave Bäderbau CEO Christian Brunner and Berndorf AG CEO Franz Viehböck the idea of commemorating this remarkable rise in an unusual way.

Immediately after the Easter weekend, they took on a 4-day cycling challenge that connects Czechia, Slovakia and Austria. Their personal to-do list looked a little different than in their daily business: warming up, muscle tension for the start, precise timing when changing gears, aerodynamic position and finally maintaining an overview from the new perspective of the racing saddle... Nevertheless, the demands of racing on a road bike are comparable to those of a CEO's job description. They received top support from Bäderbau CFO Helmut Krumböck in the support vehicle.

The result: the most important stages were mastered with flying colours – a total of 246.7 km and 1,644 metres of elevation gain were covered. In addition to the Bäderbau teams in Czechia and Slovakia, the Berndorf Besteck base of location partner Berndorf-Sandrik in Žarnovica was also visited.

Only on the fourth and last day did the “spring weather”, which was not at all suitable for outdoor swimming at only 12°C and wet and cold, throw a spanner in the works. For the return journey to Austria, the bike was swapped for a car. Bäderbau service – just in time 😊

Service is our success: A minor breakdown couldn't stop Christian Brunner because Helmut Krumböck kept in touch from the tour bus and was on hand to help.

Keeping track: The stage destination on day 3 – the combined site of Berndorf Besteck and Berndorf Bäderbau in Žarnovica, Slovakia – was reached.

The rain couldn't dampen the spirits of the Bäder-Räder-Tour.

CFO Helmut Krumböck was always ready for action with the service bus.

The satnav showed the way, but on the fourth day the weather was no longer cooperating – so we headed back to Austria by car. CFO Helmut Krumböck ensured that the bathroom construction service was provided just in time.
